Menya Kisso: Best Ramen and Tsukemen in Kiba

by Yuri - TripleLights travel specialist

Menya Kisso is a ramen shop in Kiba station that is lined by locals and tourists for their great tasting ramen and tsukemen. Don't know the difference between ramen and tsukemen? Read more about them here.

Their menu is simple. It's the same flavor of ramen for everyone. The customer is just given a choice to have it ramen-style or tsukemen-style. You can also opt for a large bowl if you believe you eat more than the average. The noodles are handmade, and tastes and looks fine. The soup is flavored with a combination of pork and fish, and tastes so good you wouldn't mind sipping it to the last drop.

For ramen egg fanatics, if you like half-boiled egg that much, you might want to try eating at Menya Kisso. Their egg is cooked perfectly.

Despite being a famous restaurant to visit for ramen adventurers, Menya Kisso only serves lunch from 11:30 AM-3:00 PM, and is closed for 2 days in a week (Wednesday and Sunday).

My husband, my 12 years old son and I spent 1 day wandering around Tokyo with Junko and I heartily reccomend her and her guide services. Junko knows Tokyo very well and she adds references to Japans history as well as modern culture. She was very flexible with our requests. We have been in touch before the trip and prepared a plan together of what we wanted to see. We did some minor deviation...

Hiroshi (Gucci) was very good with communication before we met, making suggestions about itineraries and what was really do-able in one day. He was prompt and personable. He allowed me to set the pace (choosing when/where for lunch), and didn’t mind me spending some time for souvenir shopping. We used the subway a LOT (tip = buy the subway day pass!), and also did miles of walking. I was able to g...

This was my family's first visit to Japan. We spent 2 half-days with Maru, and had a great experience. She is very knowledgeable, has good communication skills, tailored the itinerary to what we wanted to see, and was super responsive and proactive in setting everything up (tickets, restaurants research, etc). Even after our official tour was over, we would send her a few questions, and she wou...

People like Yumi, friendly, interesting, informative, knowable, willing to go out of her way, all add to one’s experiences and instill an interest and yearning to return. Yumi was the perfect guide for us.
