Koukaibou: Ramen for the Tokyo Food Adventurer

by Yuri - TripleLights travel specialist

Koukaibou, is one of those select ramen restaurants that offer a variety in their menu, but still keeps each of their ramen with a unique flavor. They serve the local favorites such as shouyu ramen (soy sauce based soup), and tonkotsu ramen (pork bone soup ramen). You can opt to add toppings too such as additional chashu, egg, etc., for less than 300 Yen each.

What's nice about Koukaibou is that you can ask them to serve the noodles separately from the soup. This is called the tsukemen-style ramen. Aside from ramen bowls, Koukaibou also serves ramen sets complete with a bowl of your choice of ramen, sides, and rice.

It is notable that the serving in Koukaibou is a little bit smaller than the standard size and quantity. Nevertheless, it is still a recommended place for all the ramen lovers and food adventurers in Tokyo.

Michiko is very easy to be with and an excellent interpreter. She guided us on a 1/2 day Tour of Tokyo and even gave us important information on how to use the complicated Train system. The most important event for me was meeting my Japanese family, who do not speak English. She interpreted effortlessly and the day went without a glitch. I would highly recommend Michiko for Tokyo tours and an...

2 days ago Traveler: Jan -   Tour Guide: AKIRA

We decided us for a guided tour at our arrival day in Tokyo to beat the jetlag after a 12 hour long haul overnight flight from Europe. To prepare the tour we wrote a very detailed message with our expectations. Unfortunately the suggested iternaty didn‘t meet our expectations, so we did a lot of research about Tokyo on our own. In the end this was the best excercise to get ready for the city, but...
