Annual Event in November, Shichigosan

On a fine day in November, I saw some lovely children in kimono at Tsurugaokahachimangu Shrine in Kamakura. This is a scene of annual event in November called Shichigosan. Shichigosan literally means 7,5,3. These are the numbers of children's ages. Japanese people celebrate children's growth  at their ages. Girls are celebrated at the age of 3 and 7, and boys are 3 and 5. Children and their parents dress up and visit local shrine to pray their health and happiness.  This is a special day for a family.

Hi! I'm Yu Kameda. I'm a national licensed English tour guide. I grew up and live in Yokosuka City of Kanagawa Prefecture. It is located in the south of Tokyo, and close to Kamakura City and Hayama Town. Historically, Yokosuka is an international city, so, since childhood, I like to communicate with foreign people. Now, I'm very happy to introduce my beautiful hometown to the world. Please let me support your memorable tour in Japan as your guide!
I'm looking forward to seeing you. Thank you!
