Annual Event in November, Shichigosan

On a fine day in November, I saw some lovely children in kimono at Tsurugaokahachimangu Shrine in Kamakura. This is a scene of annual event in November called Shichigosan. Shichigosan literally means 7,5,3. These are the numbers of children's ages. Japanese people celebrate children's growth  at their ages. Girls are celebrated at the age of 3 and 7, and boys are 3 and 5. Children and their parents dress up and visit local shrine to pray their health and happiness.  This is a special day for a family.

We were a little late arriving at the train station, however, Yu was a trooper and stuck around for our arrival. It was very easy to find her as she had a sign with my name raised high above her head. Yu had hand drawn a cute map outlining our day trip. We visited a couple of temples, the bamboo garden and the Great Buddha. Yu was very knowledgeable of the history of each site visited. Yu was...

Had a great time traveling with Yu for two days. Walked a lot, saw a lot. She focused on customizing my tour for the things I like the most—stationery and kitchenware stores. She was very attentive to my needs and concerned about my comfort. Would recommend her to anyone interested in a very thoughtful and kind guide.

Spent over four hours covering the highlights o f Tokyo at night. Yu did a great job. She was fun and full of energy, showing us everything she promised. Due to the crowds from Golden Week, we had to hustle to cover everything, but since she knew the areas so well we had little difficulty. What I liked most was her effort to contact us before the trip and make sure we knew what was to be included...
