How Would you Like Some Candied Apples?

by Yuri - TripleLights travel specialist

Candied apples or "ringo ame" in Japanese is yet another popular festival treat in Japan and are commonly sold in food carts during Japanese festivals. Ringo ame are skewered apple slices dipped in red-colored melted sugar. Once the sugar gets hard, the apple slices transform into instant lollipop treats!

Ringo ame is not only popular to kids, but to teenagers and adults as well. It is usually priced at around 200 Yen for one stick. Candied grapes. oranges, and strawberries can also be bought during the Japanese festival seasons.

Kaoruko was punctual & a wonderful guide. She speaks fluent English & French. She took us by train to the stables from our apartment in Shibuya. I was surprised how long this took. We did not arrive until around 9am to the stables. There was also NO museum experience as was promoted which was disappointing- However it was an incredible experience being permitted to enter the stable and the trainin...

We arranged for Oeuvre Limousine Services through TripleLights to pick us up from Tokyo Station and take us to Disney Sea. Even though we left it quite late to book, TripleLights was great in responding quickly and finalising our booking. They also provided clear directions regarding the meeting point and time. Our Oeuvre driver arrived ahead of schedule and was courteous and professional. ...

What an amazing day and one we will never forget! Our time in Kyoto was very limited and Kosuke helped make every minute count without feeling rushed. Each moment was more memorable than the last. He is not only well versed in Kyoto’s history but will share his obvious love of his hometown with you. We were extremely impressed with his driving skills, especially his mastery of navigating Kyoto’s m...

“ Best One Day Tokyo Tour Ever ”

Excellent
1 day ago Traveler: Elizabeth -   Tour Guide: Mitsuru

I had a 12 hour layover in Tokyo, and rather than spend it in the airport, I spent the day with Mitsuru. He and I communicated before I arrived about what kinds of things I thought I'd like to see, but I left the itinerary in Mitsuru's hands. And he did an AMAZING job. I literally saw Tokyo from the fish market to the royal palace grounds, famous Shibuya pedestrian intersection (check it out on...

Kosuke was very professional and communicated very well in English throughout our whole time. He knew the city so well and he brought us to lesser known shrines as well to observe the other side of touristy Kyoto. It was enjoyable with Kosuke as we spoke about almost anything and everything. Definitely recommend it to anyone who wish to visit Kyoto or Osaka.

1 day ago Traveler: Sarah -   Tour Guide: Hiroki

Myself and my two boys (ages 10 & 11) spent the morning with Hiroki at the Samurai experience. He was incredibly kind and helpful. We had trouble navigating the metro system and so jumped in a taxi and Hiroki spoke to the driver on the phone and made sure we got to the right place. He translated the Samurai experience well and it has been the highlight of our trip to Tokyo so far. After the Samura...

“ Awesome way to see Tokyo ”

1 day ago Traveler: Paula -   Tour Guide: AKIRA

Akira organised some great things to see and do which was a good way to spend my first day in Tokyo. He suggested places to eat at and was willing to switch up the lunch plans as I wasn’t too keen on raw fish.
