A New Year Has started
Happy New Year from Kyoto.
In Japan, people go to shrines to wish this year happy and healthy.
Personally, I visited the nearby shrine, Jonangu shrine. People made a long queue to make a wish.
This is a dance dedicated to Shinto Gods.
At home, we enjoy New Year's feast called "Osechi"
And a soup with mochi called " Zoni"
The soup differs depending on the local area. Though Kyoto's one is white miso soup, my house's is my mother's one, fish broth.
But at the beginning, we drink Otoso, sake with herb wishing the happiness and healthy life.
