Tokyo Game Show
When: 20 & 21 Sept 2014, 10:00-17:00
Where: Makuhari Messe (make sure you get off at 'Kaihin Makuhari' Station, and not 'Makuhari' or 'Keisei Makuhari', which are pretty far from the exhibition halls)
Entry: 1000 yen in advance, 1200 yen on the day, half price for international students, elementary school age children and under go for free.
What: an enormous exhibition where game companies present their new games and promote their companies. Gamers test out the latest releases, take pictures of the show models or cosplayers (people dressed up like game or anime characters) and treat themselves to all kinds of merch, consoles and/or games. Even if you’re not especially into gaming yourself, this is an event with such a special atmosphere you should just go anyway and gawk at all the nerdyness.
