The 6th Glico Signboard

Whatever you say, the most popular signboard in Dotombori is Glico's marathon runner.  Finally the 6th Glico signboard that everyone was looking forward to seeing was open to the public on Oct. 23rd in Dotombori in Osaka.

Dotombori The 6th Glico Signboard Open (with video)

At Ezaki Glico Memorial Hall

I took a video.  The first two-minute video includes the first to the fifth Glico signboard, old items, TV commercials, and small free gifts put on the top of boxes.

The Pinch Hitter Of  The signboard

The picture of Ayase Haruka, a popular actress, was displayed from Aug.18 to Oct.22 when the formal sighboard was closed.

Dotombori The 6th Glico Signboard Open (with video)

The 6th Marathon Runner Race Around the Globe !!

Ayase Haruka showed up in front of Glico signboard to push the opening button.  Then white curtain uncovered and the 6th renewal signboard came into view.
The big difference between the 5th and 6th signboards is that the device changed from neon bulb  to LED.  Video is broadcasted for 2 minutes every 15 minutes by computer control. The marathon runner now race around the globe !!

Please come to see the 6th Glico renewal sognboard.  Dotombori is one of the busiest streets in Osaka.

I'm sure you can enjoy seeing many other flashy signboards when you come to Dotombori.

If you are interested in Dotombori, please refer to Osaka Tour of Osaka Castle, Shin-Sekai, and Dotombori.

“ A in and full day ”

Very Good

We enjoyed touring the Shihmizu area with Hideo. He was waiting for us when we got off the ship and took us to many places. Our only suggestion for the future is that because he is rather soft-spoken a microphone and speaker would be helpful as it was difficult to hear him in the back of the van. Other than that we wholeheartedly recommend him

“ Kyoto day trip ”

Excellent

Hideo have us a full day at Kyoto covering major sites and selected a great lunch place. He was knowledgeable about history and each site, and spoke good English. Hideo was very well organized and kept us on track to see everything. It was overly ambitious to try to cover Kyoto sites in one day as we were unable to see each site thoroughly. But we did want an overview and got that and want to re...

Excellent
2 months ago Traveler: Anju -   Tour Guide: Hideo

Hideo is very organized and knowledgeable! He met us in the lobby of our hotel and we spent about 5.5 hours together. He knew quite a bit about the history of Kyoto and Japan in general and answered all of our questions. It was very hot, but we managed quite nicely as there were enough times we were in a cooler areas. His English, while not like a native speaker's, was perfectly fine. We had no tr...

Prior to the trip, we had many email exchanges with Hideo. He answered all of our questions quickly and thoroughly. Since we were coming from Kyoto, we met at the Shin-Osaka train station and started our day. The first stop was Osaka Castle. We enjoyed the structural features Hideo pointed out, and he showed us several pictures of the castle in spring when cherry blossoms are blooming. He sho...
