Brewed Like You're Used to: Starbucks in Japan

by Mieke

Starbucks

Hated by some, loved by many. Go here for a standard cup of coffee, a special sweet drink and of course the internet connection. For a connection, all you need to do is create a sort of ID. This is done through, yes, the internet. So be sure to apply yourself before your visit at home or somewhere where you do have a connection. Locations all over Japan, usually around stations.

My sister, two daughters and I were very excited for our Osaka Day Tour with Koichi. We agreed to meet with him in our hotel lobby at 8:30 am, but as early as 8:15 am, we were already set. We were surprised to see Koichi arrive early as well. It gave us a good impression of him. The first place we went to was the Osaka Castle. In actuality, this was not part of the itinerary because we were onl...

We really enjoyed our time with Mari, and she is an exceptional guide. Her English is very good, and her knowledge of Japanese history and culture was amazing. Mari was in constant contact with me the entire week prior to the tour, and if I had a question she always replied very promptly. She met us in our hotel lobby which was super convenient, and then she guided us through the subway to our s...

It was an excellent day with Mayumi bending an excellent guide. She was very knowledgeable and organized. She was flexible enough to adjust timings of the tour based upon the guests needs. She had done good research and ground work on what we wanted to do and eat and still be flexible and able to cover all the attractions. Special thanks for brinigjng in the umbrellas for the rainy day. We indeed ...

Chizuru was an excellent guide. She was thoughtful, kind, articulate and extremely well organized. We spent a great day together walking all over the Art Island. The time I spent with Chizuru was the highlight of my trip to Japan. I would highly recommend her as your guide.

1 day ago Traveler: Jeanile -   Tour Guide: MAYUMI

Mayumi was a wonderful and cheerful guide. She made our first day in Japan absolutely great. She took us to some of the main sights in Tokyo and listened to our request to also view some more of the everyday Japanese life. She was very efficient, showed us how to get around in Tokyo and she gave us practical advice (i.e. get a Pasmo). I would recommend that every first timer in Japan a guide on th...

1 day ago Traveler: Cathy -   Tour Guide: SHIN

I presented Shin with a challenge when organising my tour by wanting a more everyday cultural experience. My initial request was very vague and wishy washy. Shin was constantly patient in working with me to come up with an itinerary. In the end we settled on a mixture of high and low culture and we packed a lot of experiences into a very fun day. Shin is very generous in his nature and keen to...

He allowed me to travel at my leisure while he navigated me through the public transportation. I saw more than what I anticipated and have many new memories. The knowledge he shared with me allowed me to navigate through the metro line, instead of using taxis, on my last day in japan by myself, which saved me money. Nothing but positive remarks.

We just finished a two day trip in Yamanashi with Yuji and we had so much fun! Yuji is the coolest tour guide, he is very knowledgeable and friendly and we can’t imagine taking our tour with anyone else! From the beginning to the end, Yuji accommodated all of our needs and took very good care of us, he answered all of our questions and even told us about things we would never have thought to ask. ...
