If there is one thing noticeable in Japan, it is that it's covered up in advertisements, most especially print ads. Seeing ads inside trains, buses, and malls are nothing special. But seeing the huge amount of print advertisements in these places is what made it extra-ordinary.
But wait! If you thought these ads are just found in buses and trains, then you are wrong. Taxis also have huge boards inside them that more or less advertise a certain thing. Billboards, elevators, escalators, a flight of stairs, rental bicycles, vending machines, give-away pocket tissue papers, pavements, subways... name it, it has an ad on it. You will also encounter an area particularly in subways where magazines and other reading materials are free for grabs. We call this "free papers" and they are available mostly in public places such as train stations.
